The 15th Annual Fremont Festival of India and Parade is one of the largest on the west coast. This two-day event showcased the culture, creativity, reflections and traditions of India. It featured authentic food, dance competitions, a health fair, a kids’ corner, arts, crafts, fashion and designs. New this year was the “Desi Idol” contest, modeled after the TV show “American Idol.” The parade’s grand marshal was Amrita Rao, a popular actress from Mumbai.
